What are the dress codes for Las Vegas night & day clubs?
Wearing the right outfit to a Vegas nightclub can mean the difference between being allowed in and being left high and dry outside the ropes. Las Vegas nightclub dress codes aren’t exact science, but if you follow our advice, you’ll be looking good and having a good time.
NIGHTCLUBS
Ladies Nightclub Dress Code Attire
- Ladies, you will have the most fun when you are at ease in your clothing choices.
That means a short, glittery cocktail dress and 5-inch stilettos. It’s also fine if you prefer trendy jeans with a cute crop top and a more modest heel height. - The key is to dress confidently because you will be walking through a large casino to get to the nightclub, possibly waiting in line outside or inside the venue, and finally dancing the night away! If your feet are aching from those new booties you haven’t broken in yet, or if you’re constantly adjusting that ‘What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas’ mini skirt that keeps riding up, the fun can come to a halt.
- We’ve all seen or experienced the ‘barefoot walk out of the club while holding your heels,’ which is unsanitary and dangerous because you could step on glass. To avoid such mishaps, dress for success by wearing your own version of cute, hot, or beautiful, whatever you want to call it! Just make sure you’re confident, at ease, and ready for a long, enjoyable night!
P.S. – NO FLIP FLOPS!
Men’s Nightclub Dress Code Attire
- All Vegas nightclubs require “upscale casual” attire, which can appear broad and ambiguous, but a general rule is to wear well-fitting, clean, on-trend clothing. Sports and athletic attire are never permitted.
- When you get to the ropes, keep in mind that two guys dressed similarly may get different reactions from the door staff. This is how Vegas nightclubs are, so please don’t take anything personally or cause a scene. That similarly dressed guy who just walked into the club without incident could be a high-rolling gambler, a friend of the venue staff, or even the club owner, so keep in mind that dress code rules can sometimes be bent for certain people. Again, nothing is personal. Please keep in mind that not all nightclubs follow the same dress code.
It’s up to each nightclubs’ door staff whether your outfit choice gets the green light or not. So, if you’re unsure about a certain pair of shoes, for example, then play it safe and go with a pair of leather dress shoes that you know will work.
It’s not worth the risk of being held at the door while your friends are let inside. If you do end up being held at the door, the BEST thing you can do is be polite and keep your cool. Copping an attitude will not get you anywhere except escorted away from the venue and possibly even banned.

Do not attempt to bring anything illegal into the venue, they will find it, kick you out, and you will not be eligible for a refund of any kind. If security asks you to leave or step out of line for any reason; remain calm, be respectful, and comply with their instructions. We can always attempt to settle matters after everyone has had a chance to relax, but if you become confrontational or get heated, that’s pretty much the end of your evening at that particular venue. The goal is to de-escalate the situation.
